One of the most common reasons for visits to the ER or the pediatrician is parents' inability to control their children's fever.  Under- or overdosing is all too common because the instructions that come with these medications are vague and incomplete. Our Pediatric Fever Fighter™ dosing card is the solution.

THE CRITICAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PEDIATRIC FEVER FIGHTER CARD AND THE DRUG MANUFACTURER'S GUIDELINES

It's pretty simple, really! The guidelines that come with the children's anti-fever and anti-pain medications are a broad range, not an exact measure. Our dosing card, on the other hand, is a precise measure, and that makes all the difference in the world! Here's why:

The manufacturer's instructions use weight ranges of 11 pounds for dosing. This is fine if your child is at the bottom of the dose range but will result in underdosing by as much as 2 ml or 30% of the child's bodyweight. This means that if you follow the instructions that come with the medications, your child or infant may very well not see his or her fever reduced! The gold standard for these meds is based on mg/kg dosing, giving an exact dose for any given weight. This is what our Pediatric Fever Fighter™ dosing card does for you. We've done the calculations for you that your pediatrician would recommend. In addition, our card advocates a method of alternating Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen not found in any drugstore handout, which is now the standard of care in pediatrics for difficult fevers.
